Over the past several years, Serendipity Books has assembled more than 3,400 books of fiction, poetry, nonfiction and other items by and about black American writers and writers from Africa and the Caribbean. The catalog contains many items of scholarly interest. All books are first editions, in dustwrappers if so issued, and fine unless otherwise specified. All prices are in U.S. currency. Black literature online

A select listing of other black literature resources online. Please e-mail us if you have listings we should incorporate into our pages.

QBR: The Quarterly Black Review of Books: The current issue features an interview with novelist Terry McMillan and a review of Breaking the Glass Ceiling by Thomas Hauser. QBR also features a Guide to Black Classics.

Callaloo is a scholarly journal of African-American and African arts and literature. The quarterly, affiliated with Johns Hopkins University, publishes original works by and critical studies of black writers worldwide.

The Fat African American Library features a wide array of reading lists and links to black literature on the Internet.

Universal Black Pages, an information service hosted by the Georgia Institute of Technology (but not affiliated with the school), features a rich Written Word section with links to many literary resources.

The University of Southern California maintains an extensive collection of online resources to African American literature and a variety of other black cultural topics such as the Harlem Renaissance.
